Allllrighty. So, earlier today a woman from Chrysler Mid-Atlantic called me to discuss my options with my car, since the dealership I ordered it from is being closed. In her voicemail she left me, she mentioned 3 dealerships that I could choose from. However when she called back later I asked if I had to choose one of those 3, she said 'no, those are just 3 that I've dealt with in the past.' I told her my preferred dealership and she said no problem. I also mentioned to her that I had already visited said dealership and spoken with one of the Dodge sales managers and had shown him my order paperwork and that he informed me that they should be able to honor the same price. She was going to call the zone rep for that dealership and make sure everyone was on the same page and get back to me later this afternoon to confirm. So, as of right now, it sounds like the dealership issue is out of the way. I got my order transferred to the dealer of my choice and the price should be the same.
Bad news; my order was canceled. However, when I asked if I would have to start the whole process again or if it would pick up right where it left off before the plants shutting down, she said that she would make sure a note was attached to my order to get it fast tracked and built asap after the plants become operational again. She asked if I knew the status before everything went south, and I told her that as of 4/29 I was at D-1 status and that I was given a VIN number for the car. She said "ohhhh, can I get that?" and I gladly gave her the last 8 digits. I guess it bodes well that I had a VIN number. She also took down the info on what I ordered, and I told her it was a R/T Classic with the 6spd manual added on, and also told her the colorrrrrrrrrr. :)
Last but not least, my initial deposit I made on the car I should be getting back. I visited the dealership last week and asked if they could refund my deposit. They obliged and said they'd put a request in to get a check cut for me. The Chrysler rep said good, and to let her know if they do give me any trouble and she'll make sure I get that back.
So, as much as it stinks waiting and waiting, calling numerous dealerships, making trips to different dealerships, calling customer service, not knowing what's gonna happen [until now], I know that all of this trouble will be more than worth the wait. And I know that the day this car finally makes it home will be one of the happiest and most satisfying of my life. Also, I've been thouroughly empressed with Chrysler's customer service throughout this whole ordeal. So that's a +1 for them.

So...you told her it was a R/T Classic, 6 speed manual, black, right???
So I guess I won't get to see the Orange Colonel in July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sadly, I doubt the Colonel will make it here by the time you're here. The plants are scheduled to start up again in early July, and hopefully mine will be early on in the build queue. But even then it prob wont be till early August till it's here. But hey, miracles do happen.
