Sigur Ros

Two separate friends of mine, one on the west coast, and one here on the east have both told me about this Icelandic band, Sigur Ros. I was told their music was used in a lot of movies and some commercials, and after listening, you can definitely tell how that is probably true.

While out in San Diego, my one buddy put on one of their dvd's entitled 'Heima'. It's basically a series of live recordings from outdoor shows they did throughout their homeland of Iceland. I'm pretty sure the shows were unannounced and free as well, pretty sweet. Either way, it really is great music for just having on in the background, or to put on and fall asleep to on the couch.....like we did with the dvd in San Diego.

I'm not a huge follower of them since I'm still new to the band, but this song seems to be one of their popular ones. The clip below is the song 'HoppĂpolla' from their live dvd. Pretty awesome video if you ask me. Iceland has some pretty awesome scenery too. Enjoy.
