I got my invite from Google yesterday to join their Google Voice service. Bottom line, it's really cool. Gonna take a little while to figure everything out though. But basically I now have a second phone number and it works on any phone I choose, and I can control the entire thing from a computer if I wish. Some of their voicemail features are especially cool. Like I can listen in on a voicemail as it's being left on my cell phone, and interupt it and take the call at anytime. It will also provide a transcript of the left voicemail in my acct on the computer AND then let me even embed the voicemail onto a website....such as this one! :)
Pretty cool huh? I think this will open up a whole new world of blog interactivity. Like if you want to leave suggestions for the blog, you could call the number and leave that then I can add them in. Or if I'm traveling and want to leave an audio update for my many many fans I could call my own voicemail then embed it here as well. This is only the beginning......
UPDATE: Tested the call record function, and it works!
