4th Of July Weekend

This past weekend to celebrate the 4th of July, and to take advantage of the always-needed 3 day weekend, my friends and I headed down to Lake Anna for some camping, fun in the sun, boating and tubing....oh and bridge jumping.

As fun as it always is to head down and play on the water all weekend, I always end up paying for it the day or two afterwards. I'm all kinds of beat up, and have also decided that I need to finally get a sleeping pad for under my sleeping bag. I used to be fine sleeping on the ground, but now find that I can't get as good a night's sleep as I would like without one. At least my brand new sleeping bag and tent performed flawlessly in the crazy weather we ended up getting. It was in the mid 90's and sunny each day, then both nights came torrential rain and thunderstorms. My tent got kinda dirty on the outside, but I was perfectly dry inside, which is what really matters. I'm looking forward to getting back into camping a little more this summer and fall. I camped all the time while in the Boy Scouts, but haven't done much in the past few years, so hopefully that'll change soon. Here's a quick video of the storm on Sunday night.

Unfortunately, no one took any pictures of the activities, but upon cruising around in the boat yesterday afternoon, we came across a bridge and saw two people jump off of it into the water below. I of course had to do the same, so we slowed the boat down and I dove in and swam over to the shore. I crawled up a concrete drainage ditch of sorts, and up onto the road/overpass above. I waited for two boats below to pass by and then it was GERONEMO!!! It was only about a 30 foot jump, so not too bad, and lots of fun. I hopped back on the boat, but I should've jumped a second time. Oh well, we'll have to remember that spot for next time.

Last night there were some pretty good fireworks across the street from my neighborhood, so we walked to a nearby parking lot with hundreds of other people to check 'em out. Pretty solid ending to quite an eventful weekend. Here's a video of the fireworks from last night. Happy Birthday America [oh, and me too!] Enjoy!

Happy Birthday: Mom [And Fairy Godmother] Edition

Today is February 11th, which means it's my moms [and her twin sisters] Birthday! They are two of the most wonderful and caring women I've ever known, and I'm beyond proud to be a son and nephew to them. I love it when they're both together, because once you get them going, they will crack each other up until they literally fall out of their chairs. While most of the time no one else knows what's going on, it's still hilarious for us to watch. They're both a constant source of entertainment and love, and for that, I feel truly blessed. Happy Birthday to you both!!

The mother and myself at my friends wedding a few years back.

The unstoppable duo.

Here's a video I made for them for their birthday a few years back,
but it's always worth another watch.

The Colonel And I: 1 Year Anniversary

Holy canoli! Can you believe it's been one full year since the Colonel finally arrived home? Actually it's been 1 year and 1 day, because the actual date was yesterdaty, but I was real busy. Anyway, this car has taken me on a heck of a lot of adventures, and led to some great friendships with fellow owners. It's sparked a lot of conversations with total strangers, thumbs ups from admirer's, and brought more smiles to little kids' wide eyes on the highway than anything else I've ever seen. This is a truly special car, and I can only wait with wonderment and anticipation of where the miles ahead will take us. Here's to 1 year!!!

Happy Birthday: Erika Edition

Today is my oldest sister, Erika's 22nd birthday. Not really an exciting birthday since you've been able to drink legally for a year now, and you're car insurance rates don't drop till you turn 25, but hey it's a birthday nonetheless right?! Let's take a quick look at the progress of Erika.

Couple days old, shortly after her inaugural birthday.

Sporting some high fashion sometime in the mid 90's.

Celebrating [both of ours] 21st birthday's a couple months/years early while at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany.

This picture may reflect otherwise, but I assure you she's actually come a long way folks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIKA!! :)

Brosef's Birthday

Today is my favorite brother's 24th birthday. Happy Birthday dude.

How he didn't end up modeling for the Gap or something I have no idea. Just look at that pose. Seriously.
Enjoying some beer and Redskins football.
Also, since my bro is a huge fan of Scrubs, I felt like including one of my favorite clips on this post as well.
