Safe Driving........................NOT!

While on my way home this afternoon, this woman pulled up behind me as I was passing over 495 on 66 (from inside the beltway to the outside). Anyway I check my rear view mirror to see how close she's getting to my bumper, and NO WONDER SHE'S SO FREAKING CLOSE!!!! She has a gigantic GPS unit mounted directly in front of her face and smack dab in the direct line of sight. Now couple things come to mind: 1) ARE YOU FREAKING RETARDED?! 2) Common sense is unfortunately not so common. 3) I'm sure you don't need a GPS to get home from work! 4) Typical woman driver (sorry ladies) and 5) ARE YOU FREAKING RETARDED?!?!?

In addition to this she had an enormous Hawaiian lay(sp?) thingy hanging from her rear view which certainly couldn't have helped her situation at all. I'd say that out of her entire visibility out the front windshield (which in a shocking news break also happens to be the direction that you travel 99.9999999 % of the time) she probably had a solid view of 25-30% given the fact that her line of sight was directly blocked by the GPS, and I know she's not looking to her front/right anytime soon with that obnoxious thing hanging there. Oh and don't forget the Yoda action figure mounted on the dash as well. Oh and here's another shocker.....on the cell phone just laughing away.

I've had a theory for a while now, that in order to get your drivers license you need to be able to demonstrate how to properly and safely change a flat tire using nothing but standard tools your vehicle comes with. I think it's safe to say that roughly 65% maybe more of the population couldn't do that. There's my solution to DC/NOVA/Metro traffic problems!!

There's the picture proof as well. And for the record, my eyes never came off the road, I just snapped away with the camera hoping it came out. When I got home I was delighted to find these two fairly solid pieces of evidence.

Picture 1: My initial view of said stupid/moronic/dangerous driver. Her car came out unfortunately out of focus, but you can still clearly see her over sized white GPS unit mounted directly in forward line of sight. The Hawaiian lay thing is pretty obvious as well.

Picture 2: No further evidence, just a slightly better look at what we were dealing with. After this picture was snapped, I promptly moved to the far right lane and left her in the dust. (Cause anyone who drives 66 daily knows all the idiots clog the left lanes and the right lane/shoulder lane is the obvious choice.)

Comment away.

HAHAHA I love that you are taking a picture while in the drivers seat of your car accusing the woman of having something obstruct her view. That's good stuff right there! I'm assuming you stopped before taking that rather incriminating evidence. Tell me you stopped before you took it...

Matthew, please refer to paragraph 4. Next Question!

I agree with Matthew, but I was glad you addressed it! I also occasionally take pictures while driving :)
